Rosie O'Dea, class of 2012

This year, we are launching a new campaign called #HumansOfMuckross
This involves quickfire interviews with alumni to connect past pupils together & take a look into the cool things that everyone's up to post-green skirt era 💚

First of all we have ...

Rosie O'Dea (class of 2012)

"I've so many good memories of Muckross"

"I loved the fact that nobody ever took themselves too seriously, everyone was always able to have a laugh! Everyone (teachers included) had a great sense of humour"

"One thing that may resonate with some people was the Friday mornings. You'd come in & there would be a strong pong of fake tan wafting through the concourse. It wouldn't be long before you'd see some very orange ladies. That's how you knew it was a Friday!"

Where she is now:
" I moved to London 2 years ago after training as a nurse in Beaumont Hospital. I spent 2 years working in cancer & haematology - something I've found extremely rewarding but also extremely challenging. It's become an area very close to my heart, & I've been lucky enough to meet some of the world's most amazing people & their families. I've recently started a post as a blood transfusion practitioner"

Advice for your 6th year self:
"Don't pay too much attention to your CAO .. you won't end up doing anything you have written on it !!"

Thanks so much for sharing your stories & advice, Rosie! You get to nominate the next interviewee ✅

Are you in London? Are you a nurse?
